Forensische Qualitätssicherung
Nowadays quality standards are a must in forensics. Not only because of high media impact in case of insufficient forensic quality, it is relelvant to demonstrate the quality approach in the scientific examiantion of evidence and to prove that you meet formal quality requirements.
In the forensic context, two international quality standards are paramount:
- ISO/IEC 17025: General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories
- ISO/IEC 17020: Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection
When implementing these generally vsalid conformity requirements for the specific purpose of forensics, practical experiences in the quality assessment are significant. As technical expert for accreditation in forensics, particularly in the forensic disciplines of fingerprint examination, document/handwriting examination, as well as crime scene work, I work for different international accreditation bodies : ANAB (USA), COFRAC (France), EIAC (Dubai U.A.E.), DAkkS (Germany), FINAS (Finland), HAA (Croatia), INAB (Ireland), PNAC (Pakistan), SA (Slovenia), SAS (Switzerland).
